Daniel Gómez Vega was born in Cali, Colombia. He earned a bachelor's degree in history in Marseille, a master's degree in anthropology in Bologna; he also spent a year living in Istanbul and studied at the Fine Arts Academy of Paris—though not necessarily in that order.

Daniel currently splits his time between Porto and Palermo, doing most of his work in a room with a window overlooking the river. He specializes in editorial illustration for newspapers and magazines, posters, infographics, and more.
