Femke de Jong

Femke_de_Jong-pic2.jpg

Femke is an illustrator from the Netherlands. She studied illustration at UWE Bristol, UK and has been working as a freelance illustrator since 2008. Growing up she could always be found in the attic room cutting up old magazines, drawing and dreaming up new worlds.

These days you can still find her at her happiest creating in her studio. Fem creates her conceptual illustrations by collaging vintage mixed-media together digitally with drawn elements in a contemporary, yet classic style.

She likes to capture a moment in time that’s often whimsical and curious. A nature-lover who collects stories and finds inspiration everywhere she goes. On time away from her studio she loves to ride on her bicycle, flea markets, and dive wrecks & reefs with her buddy.

Femke's work is published around the world, some of her clients include : BBC Magazines, New York Times, Times Higher Education and Radio Times.
